It’s the year 3023 on the planet Aotearoa, and avid classic video game enthusiast Kauri Roads is both bored of his job at Retro Central Games and fed up with his mundane life at the Aotearoa Universal Education Institute of Technology. While livestreaming, Kauri meets an alien named Allen from the other side of the galaxy and immediately bonds with them.
Now, he must decide whether to stay on his home planet or take a bold leap of faith and traverse across the galaxy.

Taking place in the distant future, Horis in Space takes us on a trip into the undiscovered through the magic of classic video games. Directed by award-winning playwright Benny Marama, Horis in Space is a story about the difference between finding meaning beyond the stars and finding your place among your whānau and friends.
