Matariki at the Museum: Toi is Rongoaa

This year, Te Whare Taonga o Waikato will offer an extended programme that will run across the day in response to the changes offered by Level Orange Covid Protection Framework and focus on a programme celebrating well-being from a Maaori perspective.

Matariki is a customarily a time to reflect on the bountiful harvest, to play, to plan, to honour those that have departed and attend to our mental wellbeing. A full day of creative activities has been planed for a wide range of audiences. To coincide with this programme, the exhibition ‘Toi is Rongoa’ also opens to the public on the day of the event.
